Update from UCI Wales and Nationals

After a brilliant weekend in Belgium placing 11th at Houffa Gravel (UCI Series) the Ribble Outliers rolled straight into two home races, Graean Cymru (UCI Series) and the National Champs. Motivation and confidence was sky high after an incredible season. I’ve been top Brit at nearly every event this year and after my podium at Graean in 2024 I was eager to build on that result.

The legs felt unreal both weeks, the best they’ve been all season. At Graean, I was able to play a key role by helping my teammate Jenson get up the road in the early break and seeing him take the win was a huge highlight! I rolled in for 6th after slowing down the chase group the rest of the race, not the result I was aiming for, but being part of a team victory was pretty special.

At Nationals we went in with a clear plan, ride aggressively and take it to the Ineos duo of Ben and Connor Swift. We gave it everything, attacking, pushing the pace and forcing the race. A mid race mechanical just as I was on my limit and the toll of those early efforts knocked me out of contention but that’s bike racing, I would eventually finish 9th. Jenson’s brilliant 4th and Sophie’s 3rd gave the team plenty to celebrate.

Sometimes the end result doesn't reflect what was really possible on the day, but the legs are firing, the team is strong, and the next chance to prove myself is just over a week away. I'm hoping the best is yet to come!
