Heat training, sold as an add on to regular monthly coaching. You are paying for the two to four week heat training block.

 

An intense period of (usually) two to four weeks to begin athletic Heat Training with a primary focus of stressing and conditioning the body (safely) by training in an elevated core body temperature, the target is to spend time at heat strain zone 3. Heat Block Training is usually the start of the Heat Training program and when this is completed, athletes need to keep this 'topped up' with two to four Heat Training Workouts each week so that they don't lose the physiological benefits.

 

Your heat training will give you a much stronger ability to race or ride in hot conditions thanks mainly to an increase in blood plasma volume, this will raise your ability to dissipate heat through sweating. Following your heat training block your sweat rate will be higher and at a lower core temperature and your sweat will contain less electrolytes, meaning you won't lose crucial micronutrients and it'll make evaporative cooling more effective. This increase in thermoregulatory efficiency and blood plasma volume means you will have more blood available to reach your working muscles. Research has proven that this can create a 3 to 8% increase in submaximal performance and an increase closer to 7% at VO2max in hot and cool conditions.

 

To complete this training you will need a CORE Body Temperature Sensor and indoor trainer bike setup.
